Sue, and Vicky invited us to

where the most amazing feast was laid out for
all to enjoy!

Later we made paper plate Christmas Wreaths

Santa Nigel arrived to give out our lovely gifts

twice in one week!

What's in the bag?

Time to feast and be jolly!

Sue and the volunteers had made the polytunnel

a grotto fit for santas elves!

who were busy more wreaths

and Flush Me Not angels

there was a bit of pizza making

with healthy toppings

and just a bit of cheese!

Whilst waiting Sue had organised

fun and games.

Here are more presents - these we made for Vicky's group.

Jamie tucks into his hand made pizza.

Look - some very cute reindeer!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas

So far The View from Here has been
fabulous, we've met and made , sewn and grown,
felt part of our local and wider communities.
We can't wait to see you again in the New Year!

The Mollie Gets a Makeover!

Earlier on in the project we had an idea to

yarn bomb The Mollie!
Here she is in her autumn finery!

We also have one of the

Shelagh's Morsbag Pod

After The Green Patch Open Day our lovely Shelagh was so inspired by the Morsbags that were given away she decided to set up her own Grange Pod.  Morsbags help us to use up materials that may be languishing in a cupboard and help to create shopping bags that are a joy to use and don't add to the problems created by environmentally harmful plastic bags.

Carole popped along to donate some material for the venture.

Here are some of Shelagh's first bags

made following the Morsbag pattern

You can watch a How To video here

What a great idea!

Later, at The Green Patch
we made peppermint creams

and our gift bag project continued!

Unusual Decorations!

We were delighted to join the lovely
and very creative Phiona Richards

for a session to learn how o make
some unique tree decorations

from sink plug traps, which also gave us time
to consider how to protect our water pipes.

Phiona taught us how to choose then thread
beads through the holes in the sink traps.

Here are some of the finished results.

Carole  was on hand to assist and to
continue sewing our gift bags!

It's In The Bag!

With Christmas fast approaching the group
have been busy making Advent Calendars

and using fabric stamps

to embellish gift bags for the group and other
members of  The Green Patch community.

We chose words that represented the fun
and joy of the winter season.

Our plan is to sew all the fronts
to lovely patterned fabrics

and fill them with a selection
of small gifts and treats.
30 fronts down and 50 more to go !

Here are Jamie and Jacob

With their felt panels now mounted on
a felt mat to hang on their walls at home.
Nice work team!

Apple Print Bags at The Green Patch Open Day

One of the best parts of being part of a longer term project
and being based in a particular area is that we feel part of

both the local community and The Green Patch Community.
It was lovely to be invited to be part of their Open Day,
we were based in poly tunnel 4 along with

Sean who was kept very busy carving pumpkin lanterns.

Carole was on hand to help visitors

make printed bags

with wind fall apples.

As you can see,

there were some

 spooktacular results!
